my memory's failing. after reading people's blogs i realised that there's a lot of stuff i missed out on last week. time check: it's wednesday, first week of the hols now. for remembrance's sake im blogging about events on the last day of school. we had to see the VP! omg how could i forget that. cos we were playing bridge during council investiture. luckily she turned out to be very nice, told us to study hard and all. and last day of school i played cluedo too =) heh. was being a lamppost for 2 ppl la..... sadded.

today was quite fun. went to zheng hua chun (my blog still refuses to print chinese characters) in the morning for nasi lemak. then spent an enjoyable time wandering around bukit panjang. went back to my old house there and sat at the top of the hill for a long time. so peaceful and serene up there at around 11-12 pm (cos it was windy, so it wasn't too hot). love that place. and the company too la =)

walked all the way to cashew road there. somehow erm stopped at cashew heights to buy hello panda to eat =/ cos i realised i missed lunch. lol. for once la. i better not make it a habit.

as a consequence of all this wandering around i was late for band. OH CRAP wait band ppl pls ignore the earlier 2 paragraphs. and read this one instead:

in the morning i had a sign language workshop. quite fun la. but it made me late for band dammit. i so didn't want to be late la! i heard our section the earliest person was alr late. lol.

now that that's sorted out....... band was quite fun. when i got there only yinrui nar yi hong and boon were there -.- so yeah it wasn't so bad. alot of little funny things happened. like zhu rushing downstairs to the chimes and promptly missing his part (><), yinrui and nar going off to buy drinks and run assorted errands (thx thx ^^), and lingzi trying to be serious in instructing ppl on how to move in and out(and failing). XD

yup to sum it up. today was fun. =)

band prac again today. i've been going to sch for how many days in a row alr...... nvm tomorrow can slack at home =) today's band prac was quite uneventful. got some good practice in though, especially for awayday. but perc ensemble's in a bit of a mess...... we've got to come up with something better than tj and vj's. but that one the seniors gaodim la.

something happened to someone's shoes when we were leaving =) i wonder what.

the sky was really nice on the way back from sch. on one side was clear blue sky (one of the clearest blue skies i've ever seen), and on the other was this huge ethereal wisp of cloud. u know, those almost-there-but-not-really-there clouds that basically veiled the sky and made it misty white. and it was 3.30 pm thereabouts, so the sunlight was coming down in a kind of slanted way. though it was bright daylight, everything was bathed in a half-shadow. surreal and beautiful =)

ok i was pmsing yesterday la. today wasn't so bad. although a lot of time was wasted..... got there at 8.30 thereabouts, and had to wait outside for awhile cos i didn't have a backstage pass. so by the time that was settled my section had alr set up, so we slacked/warmed up til 10.30 when we went backstage. wasted 1 hr+ waiting for our turn =/ after that lunch at 1.30, then slack til 5 (cos that's when our performance is). so as you can see it was quite a nonsense day. but the after lunch part was okay la. i semi-dozed until around 3 then went to change up and watch my juniors talk nonsense. i realise that ppl change alot when they get to jc, they really do.

damn screwed up la....

just found out that i have to play for RI concert tmr. how screwed up is that >< make that a grand total of 1 day of prac. would be a miracle if i don't screw up. somemore i've been given an impossible score. literally IMPOSSIBLE to play by myself. wtf -.- as a result of today's prac i missed rj prac, i missed soccer, i missed batch lunch, i missed part of class reunion too. and im going to be caoji sian tmr. haiii.

the teacher is damn niao. really very irritatingly niao. "everything's going to run like clockwork tmr......" "i don't want to have to discipline you..." "i don't want to hear reports of missing wallets, missing scores, missing instruments, broken instruments..." whatever la. we're not kids. and the place will be super crowded tmr. and i don't know anyone there. RGHHHH.

reunion was quite screwy too. right after we met up we went to lan almost immediately -.- i thought the arrangement was to meet for lunch. by common consensus we thought to eat prata at thompson. so we were walking to the 410 busstop when beta came up and told us that there was still alot of food left at the founder's day reception. so we went to eat. at first i thought the whole bunch of us would go, but as it turned out only a handful did. the others were too bloody focused on lanning -.- so they "went first". whatever. what happened to lunch eh?

and so we went to lanlab to join the rest... i played for a while before getting sian and going to join the others outside who were equally sian. haiya next time we should remember that many ppl don't play dota and we should do SOMETHING before lanning. some of us even went home lor >< really sorry faii. me chris tang ee chong and hq went to the cc to play bball (i kena owned) before heading to zack's house to play abit of cards. found out a few scandals about zack and chris which was abit fun..... yup. then went to meet parents for dinner and here i am, bitching about one screwed. up. day.

wahahahaa today was some siao dayyy XD as you can tell im high. i can tell too. im highhh =) but im tired. ok i tell uall what happened

woke at 8.45 around there. ate breakfast at 9 and lunch at 11 quite screwed up.
GP common test at 12.30! screwed up the essay, but think i did okay for the compre. we'll see la.

ok that's the minor part of the day. after that was the super bomb part. after GP common test ended we all stayed back awhile to wait for our class ppl so we could go out... handed up GPP and survey draft. just nice jai singh was right outside talking to another group so i have to stand around waiting for her =/ oh wells. played a few games of bridge, nothing too excessive. then we went out for dinner. we being me eugene wenhao woohan weiliang nandita pj and sabby.

all the guys ate. the girls didn't. they all ate meepok mian. i ate nasi lemak. then we slacked at the playground awhile before casually making our way to the movie theater =) joker woohan made willy believe that he didn' t want to go. then willy carried his bag to "force" him to go lol. so yeah la, free labour.

watched over the hedge. damn lame damn funny show! everyone go watch it's more than well worth the 7 bucks. laughed like mad especially at the last part ^^ hammy, the fireflies, and the slowmo bullet time XD woohan and wenhao's sabo also FAILED TO LAUNCH. XD XD

after the show we were all high and laughing and drunk liao... then we went to playground to talk nonsense and play lame games. we took turns spinning on the... spin thing (dunno what it's called) except for eugene that HUMJI. lol. then we played catching -_- all the way from 8.20 liddat to 9.45 can u believe it? so to summarise, today we wrote like mad, laughed like mad, spinned like mad, and ran like mad. so is it any wonder why im feeling abit insane now? XD

OH speaking of abilities i found i have the ability to shut off my ears. it's not at will, it just happens during boring/useless lessons eg. GP. the tutor's jabbering away and i can hear her, but somehow it registers as background noise that almost but doesn't quite reach my ears coherently. it's like i have some plastic screen over my ears or something. quite cool.

it's interesting to see others' perspectives sometimes. like how they view relationships. for me, im very selective about who i call a friend. my "friends" are other peoples' "good friends"; my acquaintances are others' "friends". yup. then there are my family members [both this year and back in sec 3 =)]and my best friend. haha u know who u are. i keep a very small circle of friends. it's all 1-1 friendships cos i don't function well in groups. yup that claustrophobic thing again.

was too tired last night to blog.... ok that's not exactly true. my sis was hogging the com last night and i fell asleep waiting for her to finish =/ yup so i'm blogging about yesterday's events now.

yesterday was quite the fun day. though alot of time was wasted in my opinion.... got a white slip in the morning for playing bridge in the gallery during council investiture. heh. ok la we deserved it so i got nothing to say in my defence. yup. after that was break and more bridge, followed by GP. GP ended early =) we ended up with one hour of civics! darren lai is damn funny. he was telling us about his life story and about his old physics teacher who *storms* into the class, plops down on the chair, and announces to the class that "she's bored". XD and yar darren lai is a good guy. deserves a lot of respect.

after school was abit of a waste of time. talked cock with some ppl (mervin eugene sabby pj hui zhen priscilla as i recall) til about 2, went to play utopia in the com labs, went to the canteen, then wandered around with nothing to do for 2 hours liddat before going for jazz =/ and throughout that i was trying to contact mr khoo to talk about CIP. ended up i didn't get to talk to him and yinrui had to go find him anyway =/ stupid lar.

jazz was another waste of time. drum set missing (歌创 ge chuang koped it. more about it later), room occupied by chorale. so we didn't get much prac in. but i got to know my new band and a new addition to jazz. good to have you an qing =) we need bassists.

chionged to s11 to eat dinner and get flowers... 碰巧 (peng4 qiao3) ran into eugene at s11 so we went to get flowers together. damn funny we were comparing our flowers and i told him i got better value for money XD but then later sabby complained that my sunflower was too small. lol. still better than someone's HAND-DRAWN one right XD

ge chuang concert was caoji nice. the first half was quite boring but some of the songs were good, and the alumni singers were very pro. but the drumset player still cannot make it. somehow the subject of coffee and memories kept coming up in song after song =/ after interval was the play which was really good. well written, well produced. i think the audience were stuck in their seats throughout heh. but the guy actor was DAMN BENG LAR XD gj ge chuang =)

move to space.

i've come to a kind of realisation. quite ironically, i got it from shah and michaelj's soccer teachings. it's quite simple really: we're always "moving to space" in soccer. it's part of the strategy, to move to empty space, to the flanks to receive the ball and to push it forward.
but it seems for me i do that alot in real life too.

part of it comes from my being a (mild) claustrophobe. i love wide open spaces, open skies, wide expanses of untamed land. i hate crowds and being underground. unfortunately that includes normal gatherings as well. even if all the people are my friends, even if i know all of them, i just cannot - CANNOT - stand being in the middle of that crowd. im always gravitating to the edges, to "empty space" in that sense.

maybe that's why i like to be alone sometimes. when noisy gatherings become too much, i just like to take a walk somewhere, alone with my thoughts, enjoying the open spaces and the weather. for me it's the greatest feeling in the world. though i won't mind someone for company =)

it's a personality thing la. i can't really talk properly in large groups; 1 on 1 though, i can relate to just about anybody. that's why in large groups, i either single out a person to talk to or i just
keep quiet. yar venetia if you're reading this: u asked why i was so antisocial right. that's the reason.

let's see. today i had a minor childish moment with woo han during econs lecture... i'll try to explain what exactly we did. he took my paper and tried to pass it around. i took his paper, pen and specs. he took my pencilbox and offered to exchange. i told him, "i have no stationery, i can borrow. u have no specs and no paper. who's worse off?" =) eventually exchanged back la but then when i got my pencilbox back i realised that he had emptied it -.- and he started passing my stationery around too -_- so i grabbed his paper again lo.

lol. little kids. well we gotta have fun while we can =)

GPP got approved, we're all quite happy now. finally we can get started on something meaningful =) after PW percussion met to practise percussion samba. it was meant for tomorrow's morning announcements but i think we made so much noise that half the school heard anyway. lol. listen out tmr.

lol omg how can i forget to blog about yesterday's harmoc concert??!! it was somehow very light and refreshing. the repertoire (sp? lol) was good, but the harmoc ppl were somewhat unprepared.... first few songs were very messy and uncoordinated. but they steadily improved towards the end la. the conductor is DAMN zai omg.... i want to hear him play again! ee sin on the xylo was quite funny XD but he was good. can't say the same for the drummer though.

see if i can get sabby and zhenzhen to send pics. descriptions of concerts just need pics somehow. did i blog about play '06? i can't even remember. time to search through archives and add nice pics to my old entries =)

coolio day. lessons were slack throughout. econs passed super fast, then we had soccer for PE which was fun. after that we had class phototaking (my photo sure screw up again) and then GP and finally civics. GP was boring. me eugene and woo han were practicing card tricks under the table lol. then when she called us we impromptu our answer ^^ not bad right. then civics was some lame game involving moving and jumping pieces. kind of like a real life checkers. which was lame but fun too.

after sch was bridge session at lt4 (pj and sabby were sitting at the top looking bored. heh.) we had volleyball throwing also. from one end of the lt to the other. i can't polo throw for nuts. but then neither can woo han and eugene =) went for lunch after that, carried out a successful experiment (^^) and went home. at 3 o clock can u believe it?

on the way back i saw a white parrot. which was rare enough by itself. then i saw it fight a tree snake. damn cool. didn't manage to get a picture though.

then just now when i went out with my family and i was walking along a narrow passageway, there was this 5 year old boy around my waist height walking towards me from the other way. then he actually said "excuse me, boy" when he tried to get past. to ME lar. caoji funny. please lor you're some small little kid and u call me "boy"? 没大没小 (mei da mei siao) kids nowadays arh >< no respect for their seniors. haii

running for QM now for some strange reason. still got teacher interviews i think i'll bomb. oh well wait and see.

let me add one more small pleasure to my list: sitting in raffles room 8 on a tuesday morning watching the teacher teach sign language. he's deaf, you see. but he communicates just as effectively, if not more so, through signing, writing, body language and facial expression. he's really quite amazing. must learn to communicate like that one day.

learnt more about sign language today..... turns out it's a lot more than just signing with the hands. it's alot about expression and body language too. i'm still lacking in that but well, that comes with practice. and it was really interesting all the same. apparently the school's organising some sort of CIP working with the hearing-impaired... it sounds fun. and i have a lot to learn from them. watching jimmy teach really opened my eyes to the myriad ways in which a person can truly express himself- without speech. quite sad that my preference for music can't be shared with them though.

if my prose today sounds like a GP essay, it's probably because im feeling extra. yup.

my internal clock is functioning well today. met people at the right times, came into classes at the right times, missed both my buses but caught each one 5 minutes later. the only thing that i missed - and quite a major one - was the meeting with jai singh. but that's her timing, not mine. she's bloody slack. im sure at 4 she's already out of the school =/ oh well any day we don't see her is a good day.

there's 2 ways of being happy. one's the haha omg so funny type of happy. the other one's the 幸福 (xing fu) type of being happy. the one where you feel at peace with the world, where you feel blessed and happy because... well because life is good to you. and make no mistake: life IS good. no matter how much i complain, no matter how troubles come my way. because it's the small things, the happy moments, that really matter. and because life, in all its glory, is worth dying for.

i can feel the pressure pressing down on my chest. the air is thick somehow. oppressive. the spectre of jai singh hovers over me, squeezing all productivityfrom my body.

why am i crapping? cos PW sucks. it really really sucks. or rather our tutor really really sucks. jai: u think you goldilocks arh. some ppl research too much, some ppl research too little, some ppl just right >< go away lar. stop destroying people's ideas and hopes for a meaningful project. on the other hand, i found a nice pic online. it's my current dp.


people are easily satisfied. all i want is to wake up early on a sunday morning (say 8 am?), get a newspaper, and go to a coffeeshop to eat nasi lemak and drink and spend a quiet morning reading my newspaper. a long walk alone in a quiet place, in the cool evening sunset, would be nice too.

the simple pleasures in life. it's a pity we have so little time to enjoy them.

elections over. status quo maintained. low thia kiang kept hougang, chiam see tong kept potong pasir. it's been a really dirty election. name calling, bribery, money politics, redrawing of constituency boundaries. makes me wonder whether the opposition was right in calling the PAP power-hungry and paranoid. cos that's exactly what they seem to be.

by typing this on my blog i feel like i'm endangering myself. hopefully i'll still be around on monday. but if im not you know what happened.

voting day! first time i've been so enthu for it lol. as of now results for hougang, yio chu kang, bukit panjang and macpherson have been announced... low thia kiang kept hougang. good for him =) bukit panjang was teo ho pin again. qian bian can't stand his face.

today was quite the day. went out in the afternoon to go shopping with my sister =/ her idea. but we ended up going HMV and stuff and we went to look for shirts for me too, so it was okay. i want a maroon shirt. and more t-shirts. and my birthday's 6 months away >< oh well must be patient. OH YES and i want a drum set too. but i have no money. diao lar.

im starting to ignore my father alot. i shouldn't i guess. but he just keeps making wrong assumptions about me. ok fine i use the com alot yeah, but just because you always SEE me use the com doesn't mean that i don't do other stuff right? and i don't like his condescending tone. it's NOT funny when you talk to me through someone else. "Hui, get your brother to do this/do that...” "Let's not talk about this because someone is sensitive..." please. grow up.

my younger sister had a dance concert tonight. she refused to take pictures. the only ones we have are those that my parents took when she looked away. =/ and we have none of her in her constume. yet she said something about wanting to get the DVD so as to keep the memories. err huh?

more results have been announced liao cos i took so long to write this entry. steve chia got owned in choa chu kang, 9k to 14k. ouch. i blame the $37m carrot. stupid carrot.

oh well. i can't vote yet anyway. and i would have blank voted or voted PAP either way cos my constituency is contested by SDP. after chee soon juan's antics over the Australian drug runner fiasco, i can't stand SDP anymore. quite a shame, that. i respected chee until that affair.

i just realised that my blogging is becoming super random.

hmms. today was quite the interesting day. chem prac was playing with models (the plastic kind, not the other one you're thinking of. sick ppl.) which was fun. finally understand optical isomers now. or as sabby puts it, i finally "think i understand now, but when exam comes i will ggxx". oh well. wait and see lor.

after school the usual gang stayed back at lt4 to play bridge and talk nonsense.....i missed alot of good photo opportunities. and recording opportunities too. what with pj chasing mervin around the lt with a badminton racket, stepping on eugene (who was sleeping on the floor) on the way, and pj and vaish discussing why they liked wei liang =/ wasted. must work on my timing. i think next time we go lt4 i just automatically take out my phone lar.

It's interesting seeing things from a non- PAP, or as steve chia put it, "alternative" viewpoint. sets ppl thinking.

and the opposition seems to be quite capable really. maybe i was all wrong about them.

and my com is screwing up! why is it that after i install all the drivers it STILL can't detect my phone USB cable connection. oii pls leh i got a pic i wanna put on this blog.

hi. band prac today was, in one word, siao. the normal band prac - 2.30 to 6 thereabouts was pretty much normal. we played fladermaus (sp?) and macchu picchu. 2 super nice songs. seems like band prac always casts a bubble of happiness around me ^^

then after band prac our section stayed back for sectionals. tried out highlife which turned out to be quite boring. then we did applause (a body percussion piece) and died laughing lol. the score is super funny. started out okay enough, with claps and chest hitting. then it became "roll on a body part of your choice" to "roll on another body part" to "stamp feet and continue rolling". hilarious XD

yup so if u want to see us (me) jump around and make a fool of ourselves on stage, come for atempo! tickets are $10 for stall, $12 for circle. while stocks last =)

well the stocks are probably going to last for some time. but get yours early anyway.

happiness ^^ today was a nice, productive day. got up early and went to sabby's house to do PW work. lol it's only 5 mins bus ride away la. so fun =) met huizhen at the guardhouse and we walked in together. the tampines guy turned out to be 1 hr late lol. but we were early and he did live very far away so we were all okay about it.

did alot of work. we're surprisingly on about PW for some reason. after our first meeting i can safely say that our group is very powerful. we have kenny the idea man and presenter, sabby and hui zhen the hard workers and me the writer lol. had wanton mee for lunch (thx sabby's mum ^^ i know u read this). after PW we slacked around for almost 2 hrs and suanned sabby badly. lol kenny is some suan king lar. no contest.

after we left at 3 it started raining. at first it was just a light drizzle, very nice to walk in. by the time we reached the bottom of the hill it had turned into a driving horizontal rain =/ so umbrellas didn't help. we were all soaked through from the waist down. poor hui zhen and sabby still had to go for tuition >< pain. me i just walked home lol. soaked also nvm. but my foolscap! (er sp?) one entire pad soaked through. wasted.

got home, read comics, played 2 half games of dota, listened to songs, did GPP. Zhu came over for awhile at 7+/8. he and some other ppl were cycling around singapore so he decided to come crash my house =) we slacked at the void deck for awhile before coming up to the house. talked alot of cock. zhu ate a few grapes and a piece of mango. then cos he felt uncomfortable (i think) we left and went to the void deck again. lolz.

on a side note, i found out that sabby is damn meng4. and my hair is soft. and kenny really isn't such a bad guy after all.
