a few random musings.
on birthdays. we celebrate our birthdays every year. but what really is the significance of this day? someone said to me once, that remembering your birthday should really be a thanksgiving. to your parents, and especially to your mother, who endured so much pain bringing you into this world. yeah it's our special day and all, but we shouldn't forget who takes the credit for us being born in the first place. wage laws. doesn't anyone find it scary? all the talk about make wages "flexible downwards", adding variable factors into wages, accepting and even condoning the weakening of trade unions and the abolishment of minimum wage laws... is it just me or is the individual worker becoming more and more vulnerable? seems like middle - low class workers are at risk of getting crushed under the merciless wheels of the corporate engine, that runs the world today. and "job creation/retention" nowadays seems to be synonymous with "wage depression". or so it seems to me. i don't know... of the importance of thinking before you speak. funny coming from me, i know. thinking back, i finally realise i've been a bastard to a lot of people, and most of the time my "jokes" were made in very bad taste. apologies won't solve anything, i know. i have to change myself. and that's what i'm going to work on. |
